Welcome. You're in the right place.
Let me tell you exactly what this newsletter is and who it's for, so you can decide in the next two minutes whether to stay.
The Pulse on Quality, Business & Life is a newsletter by Justin Buzzard on three things.
Quality - How to build it, maintain it, improve it, and think about it in ways that actually help, across manufacturing, healthcare, services, software, and everywhere else work gets done.
Business - How organizations actually function, how to lead in them, how to make decisions, build teams, and get things done when the environment is complicated.
Life - The human side of demanding professional work, including energy, focus, relationships, burnout, meaning, and the long game of building a career worth having.
Every issue covers one topic in each area. Meaningful topics to help in everyday life, earning the time you give it.
Who I Am
My name is Justin Buzzard aka Tired QA Guy. I've spent a long career in quality assurance, which means I've spent a long time caring deeply about something that a lot of organizations treat as an afterthought. I created the Tired QA Guy brand with some humor and some honesty. Tired is real. It's what you get when you care about standards in environments that often don't, when you find the same problems in different forms year after year, when you write the corrective action and watch it not quite address the root cause.
But I keep showing up. Because the work matters, and because writing about it honestly is one of the more useful things I can do with what I've learned.
I named this newsletter The Pulse on Quality, Business & Life because I believe touching on these topics on a regular basis can help everyone in their daily lives.
What You'll Find Here
Every week, one issue. Each one covers the following.
Quality - Practical frameworks, tools, and thinking for anyone responsible for the quality of what they produce, regardless of industry or role.
Business - The strategy, leadership, and organizational skills that determine whether good work actually reaches the people it's meant to serve.
Life - The habits, mindset, and professional wisdom that make a long career sustainable and worth having and a life worth living.
The issues don't require any prior quality knowledge. They're written for the experienced professional who wants to think more clearly about their work, whatever that work is. Even inexperienced people can use the information to expand their knowledge.
How to Get the Most Out of This
Read it when you have ten minutes and your attention. Not in the scroll. Not between meetings. The writing is worth more than that, and so is your time.
If something grabs you, forward it to one person who would benefit from it. That's how this grows, and it's the only growth I'm interested in.
If you have a question, a reaction, or a topic you'd like to see covered, let me know.
Glad you're here.
Till next time,
Justin Buzzard- Tired QA Guy
